Abstract:SEMnTEM and Laser Particle Sizer were proposed for the analysis of raw materials used in the ancient ink stick excavated from Leitiao Tomb in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, and getting a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese ink production technics. By comparing the results among leitiao Tomb ink stick , the standard turpentine soot, oil soot, and carbon black, it was shown that both the shape and size of the particles of Leitiao Tomb Ink Stick were in accord with Turpentine soot, which indicated that the Ink stick from Leitiao Tomb was made of turpentine soot.
Key words:  Leitiao Tomb; Ink stick; SEM; TEM; Laser Particle Sizer
