Zhu Naicheng

Born in Shanghai in 1955, Zhu graduated from the Archaeology Program, Department of History of the Sichuan University in 1977, and entered the IACASS in the same year. He had been a member of the Department of Prehistoric Archaeology and joined several fieldworks including the excavation at the Guanmiaoshan site, Zhijiang, Hubei and the survey in east Qinghai. Now he is a professor of the Information Center of the IACASS, deputy-chief-editor of Zhongguo kaoguxue nianjian (Annual of Chinese Archaeology) and supervisor of MA candidates of the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. His research interests are Neolithic archaeology in China and history of Chinese archaeology.

 

Zhu has published more than 30 papers, two books including:

2000: “Liangzhu wenhua yuqi wenshi yanjiu” (Research on the designs on Liangzhu jade objects), in Su Bingqi yu dangdai zhongguo kaoguxue, Beijing: kexue chubanshe.

2000: Zhongguo kaoguxue shihua (Brief history of Chinese Archaeology), Beijing: Zhongguo dabaikequanshu chubanshe.

1999: “Zhongguo xinshiqi shidai zaoqi wenhua yicun de xinfaxian he xinsikao” (Review of new discoveries of early Neolithic period in China), Dongnan wenhua: 3.

1998: “Bange shiji yilai de Zhongguo shiqianshi yanjiu” (Review of the research on prehistory of China in the past half century), Dongnan wenhua: 3 and 4.

1998: “Liangzhu de shewen taopian he Taosi de caihui longpan” (The pottery fragment with serpent designs of the Liangzhu culture and the color painted plate with the dragon design unearthed at Taosi), Dongnan wenhua: 2.

1996: “Zhongguo wenwu jingpinji” (Fine relics of China) (disk), Beijing: Renmin meishu chubanshe.

1996: “Yuanjunmiao Yangshao mudi de yanjiu” (A study on the Yangshao cemetery at the Yuanjunmiao site), Kaoguxuejikan Vol.9.

1994: “Guanyu Liangzhu wenhua yanjiu de ruogan wenti” (Several issues on the researches of the Liangzhu culture), Huaxia kaogu: 4.

1996: “Renkou shuliang de fenxi he shehui zuzhi jiegou de fuyuan” (Estimation of population size and the reconstruction of social structure), Huaxia kaogu: 4.

1984: “Gailu fenxi fangfa zai kaoguxue zhong de chubu yunyong” (A test application of the probability analysis method in archaeology), Shiqian yanjiu: 1.
