Database of cultural relics preservers set up in NW China
From:Xinhua News  Writer:  Date:2011-08-18

Northwest Shaanxi Province has increased efforts to protect its abundant cultural relics as it initiated the registration of public cultural relics preservers on Tuesday.

A detailed database that includes the contact information and the responsibilities of the 4,000 preservers will be set up to better manage and protect cultural relics.

The annual subsidy to the preservers was also increased from 200 yuan(31 U.S. dollars) each to 800 yuan each.

As one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization, Shaanxi boasts more than 60,000 cultural relics sites, including the Terra-Cotta Warriors and Xi'an's old city wall.
