The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Archaeology Forum will be held in Beijing on January 13, 2010, and will focus on archaeological discoveries made in the People's Republic of China in 2009. Six major archaeological discoveries have been selected for close examination in this year's programme.
The forum will be presided over by Shi Jinsong, Research Fellow and Director of the CASS Institute of Archaeology's Archaeology Press. A summary of the day's main events is shown below :

9:30 - 10:20 : The Neolithic ruins at Dongshan Village in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province.

The CASS Archaeology Forum is an academic forum for modern Chinese archaeology which was established in 2002 and is jointly organised by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Institute of Archaeology (CASS) and the Archaeology Press. The Forum is a platform for the exchange of information on the latest archaeological discoveries and developments in Chinese archaeology and was established with the aim of encouraging academic exchange and promoting the development of modern Chinese archaeology as a profession.
