Wang Peng and Huang Chao Participate in Collaborative Excavation in Romania
From:Chinese Archaeology  Writer:  Date:2009-08-11

The German Archaeological Institute's Eurasia Department and the Romanian Academy's Institute of Archaeology are currently undertaking a joint excavation of an archaeological site in Pietrele, Romania, a project which began on July 15, 2009, and will continue through to September 6, 2009. Research Fellow Wang Peng and Huang Chao, a postgraduate student at the CASS Graduate School's Department of Archaeology, were invited to Romania to participate in the excavation of the Pietrele site.
It is hoped that this opportunity to take part in a joint excavation project with German and Romanian archaeologists will lead to a greater understanding of the excavation methods, research and theories. Establishing working relationships with Western scholars will help promote mutual understanding and will allow scholars to learn from each other.   Translated by Kelly McGuire
