Heritage Preservation China is a professional expo dedicated to the conservation of cultural relics. It's set to open in China's historical city of Xi'an in October. On Tuesday,organizers briefed the media in Beijing about the upcoming event.
The first of its kind in Asia the expo is an international exhibition of heritage conservation, restoration and museum technology.
The expo is jointly organized by the Shaanxi provincial Government and the city of Leipzig in Germany. The fair aims to build a platform for international exchange and cooperation in heritage preservation.
Heritage fertile Shaanxi Province in northwest China provides an ideal venue for the topic of protection of cultural relics.
The fair has attracted over four-hundred exhibitors to Shaanxi from various continents, including Asia, Europe and North America. The expo will also showcase technical equipment and instruments used in restoration and heritage conservation. It will also feature building and repair materials, examination and measuring systems and museum equipment.
Zhang Wen, the vice head of Shaanxi Cultural Relics Bureau said, "As the capital for many ancient dynasties, Xi'an boasts a wealth of cultural relics. It would be a big mistake if we failed to preserve them well and pass an opportunity to access the most advanced technologies in heritage protection."
The fair is scheduled to run from October 29t through 31 at the Qujiang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Xi'an.
