ABSTRACT:
Yecheng city district changed from the capital city to the common downstate and entered the grand unification Sui Dynasty on times from the Southern and Northern Dynasties in the Sixth century. The thesis chose the specially appointed space-time category, attempt to apply typology method to have carried out archaeology study on more than 140 tombs materials. And I also paid attention to the space-time changing of the tombs.
The thesis contained five chapters together. The first chapter: Introduction, second chapter: Tomb category and shape system, third chapter: The shape and the combination of funerary ware, fourth chapter: The tomb periodization, period discussion and so on, fifth chapter: Concluding remarks.
The thesis carried out typology research on tomb category and shape system, the shape and the combination of funerary ware of Yecheng city in the sixth century. According to the analysis, the thesis divided the tomb culture of Yecheng city into three periods and pointed out: (1) the location changes of the sixth century tombs in Yecheng city area during A.D. 577 years mainly interelated the rigime change. (2) the tomb typoloy of the Sui Dynasty is greatly different from the Northern Period. The tombs with huge mound or wall paintings disappeard in Sui Dynasty. But the surface type was inheritted in Sui Dynasty. (3) the  shapes and the combinations of the funerary ware were inheritted from the Eastern Wei Dynasty to Sui Dynasty, but there were still great changes following the time passing on the proportion of differsnt funeraries. And some typical funerary ware were changing also in shape. (4) Sui-Tang Dynasty burial system is that the Southern Dynasties, the Eastern Wei Dynasty, the Norhern Qi Dynasty and the Western Wei Dynasty, the Northern Zhou Dynasty burial system all-round fuse beyond doubt. the Eastern Wei Dynasty and the Norhern Qi Dynasty embodied by Yecheng city area burial system is one of important Sui-Tang Dynasty burial system origin.
